DOOR AND WINDOW CARE INSTRUCTIONS

TIMBER IS A NATURAL LIVING PRODUCT AND CAN BE SENSITIVE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHEN STORING DOORS AND WINDOWS PLEASE LAY IT FLAT ON A FLAT SURFACE WHERE IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO EXTREME HUMIDITY, DRYNESS, EXCESSIVE HEAT, MOISTURE & SUDDEN WEATHER CHANGES.MOISTURE PRESENT IN NEW BUILDINGS MAY RESULT IN THE EXPANSION OF THE PANELS AND THE BREAKDOWN OF THE JOINTS. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL TIMBER PRODUCTS/ WINDOWS & DOORS ARE TREATED IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO AND AFTER INSTALLATION.PLEASE PAINT/ STAIN WINDOWS AND DOORS WITH A LIGHT COLOUR REFLECTIVE PAINT TO MAXIMISE LIFE SPAN OF TIMBER. ALL TIMBER PRODUCTS PAINTED/ STAINED IN DARK COLOURS WILL ATTRACT HEAT AND MAY CAUSE CRACKING/ WARPING/ TWISTING/ SHRINKING AND IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE SEAL & PAINT YOUR TIMBER PRODUCTS ON ALL EDGES & FACES WITH GOOD QUALITY OIL BASE PRIME & PAINT.  A MINIMUM OF 3 COATS IS REQUIRED FOR ALL TIMBER PRODUCTS IN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CLIMATE.UNFINISHED TIMBER PRODUCTS ARE NOT WATERPROOF WILL BECOME DEFECTIVE IF NOT SEALED AND PAINTED CORRECTLY AS STATED ABOVE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL AVOID WARRANTY. IT IS THE PURCHASERS RESPONSIBILITY TO PROPERLY CARE FOR THEIR PRODUCTS SO THAT TIMBER PRODUCTS SUCH AS DOORS AND WINDOWS CAN WITHSTAND EXTERNAL WEATHER CONDITIONS. TIMBER WINDOWS AND DOORS MUST BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS OR WILL AVOID WARRANTY. ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS MUST HAVE SUFFICIENT OVERHEAD PROTECTION TO MAXIMISE LIFE SPAN OF THE TIMBER. WITH AUSTRALIA’S CLIMATE EXTREMES, DOORS AND WINDOWS WILL WEATHER DIFFERENTLY AND TIMBER IS MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXTERNAL ELEMENTS COMPARED TO STEEL AND ALUMINIUM. ** YOU MAY COLLECT THE SPREADSHEET WHICH WILL STATE THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM OVERHEAD PROTECTION- PLEASE ASK STAFF MEMBER**. WINDOWS AND DOOR WITH NO OVERHEAD PROTECTION WILL AVOID WARRANTY.  DOORS AND WINDOWS SHOULD ONLY BE TRIMMED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDED MAXIMUM AMOUNT. ALL HARDWARE/ DOOR FURNITURE MUST BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO THE SUPPLIERS INSTRUCTIONS. TOP DOOR WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE HAZARDS & TERMS AND CONDITIONS .NATURAL VARIATIONS IN COLOUR, TEXTURE AND GRAIN ARE NOT CONSIDERED AS DEFECTS. IT IS ACCEPTED THAT THE SILL WILL MOST LIKELY BE A DIFFERENT TIMBER SPECIES OR COLOUR TO THE REST OF THE FRAME.TIMBERS & DOORS OVER 2100MM HIGH ARE EASILY SUSCEPTIBLE TO MOVEMENT, BOWS AND WARPING- THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED AS A DEFECT.A 3-7 MM MOVEMENT IN TIMBER IS NOT CONSIDERED A DEFECT. INSTALLATION OF STRIKER PLATES, PAINTING, STAINING, CLEANING, FILLING NAIL HOLES AND GLAZING BEADS ARE THE CLIENTS RESPONSIBLY.THE MANUFACTURER/ SELLER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF HANGING, PAINTING OR OTHER CHARGES ARISING FROM REPLACEMENT WINDOWS, DOORS & HARDWARE.

CLAIMS

ALL CLAIMS MUST BE MADE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF ACCEPTING GOODS. ALL CLAIMS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO ANY WORK (TRIMMING, CUTTING, INSTALLING LOCKS, INSTALLING PRODUCT INTO OPENING, PRIMING & PAINTING) BEING CARRIED OUT ON YOUR DOORS, WINDOWS & HARDWARE. ONCE WORK HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT THIS WILL MEAN THE PRODUCT IS FULLY ACCEPTABLE. NO CLAIMS CAN BE MADE AFTER.UPON DELIVERY ALL GOODS MUST BE CHECKED AND SIGNED FOR. ONCE SIGNED FOR, TOP DOOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OR MISSING PARTS.

 

WARRANTY

TOP DOOR PROVIDES A 2 YEAR WARRANTY ON ALL CUSTOM JOINERY MANUFACTURED BY TOP DOOR. ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS ARE COVERED WITH A 2 YEAR WARRANTY. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IF THE PRODUCT PROVES TO BE DEFECTIVE BY THE REASON OF FAULTY WORKMANSHIP OR FAULTY MATERIALS WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD, TOP DOOR WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE THE WINDOW/ DOOR WITHOUT CHARGE. THE WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY AND TOP DOOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IF THERE IS A FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE DOOR AND WINDOW INSTRUCTIONS.  NATURAL VARIATIONS IN COLOUR AND TEXTURE ARE NOT CONSIDERED AS DEFECTS UNDER WARRANTY.TOP DOOR WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF HANGING, PAINTING OR OTHER CHARGES ARISING FROM REPLACEMENT WINDOWS, LOCKS & DOORS. TOP DOOR IS A RESELLER FOR HUME DOORS, CORINTHIAN DOORS & CROWN DOORS PLEASE CHECK THE TERMS & CONDITIONS BEHIND THE BROCHURE OF THESE SUPPLIERS OR ON THEIR WEBSITE.

 PAYMENT TERMS

* All goods $3000 Inc GST and under must be paid in full upon ordering

* Payment of 60% is required for all orders over $3000 Inc GST

* All goods must be paid in full before pick up and delivery

* All cheque and EFT payments must be cleared before pick up and delivery.

* No delivery is booked until payment is cleared

* Top Door is strictly COD

*Funds must be cleared before delivery and sufficient deposit and payment is required in order to allocate a delivery day. 

 

Lead time & Delivery Terms and conditions

Depending on product order there are two different delivery dates.  

Standard order:

Estimated at 10-18 working days

  • The delivery time is an “estimate” only and the delivery date will be affected by:
  1.    i) Clearance of your payment to us from your financial institution;
  2.    ii) Whether there is a shortage of parts for the product that you have ordered;

iii) If your order contains parts/ products that are unusual or not stock in store

iiii) Season of order, during Peak seasons i.e. Christmas -standard orders may start at 14 working days as a minimum.

Custom made orders 

Estimated at 8- 18 weeks.

  • Estimated delivery time varies between 8 to 10 weeks and at times it may exceed 18 weeks.
  • Estimated delivery time does not commence until your payment has been received by us and when order details are confirmed and agreed on.
  • The delivery time is an “estimate” only and the delivery date will be affected by:
  1.    i) Clearance of your payment to us from your financial institution;
  2.    ii) Whether there is a shortage of parts or materials for the product that you have ordered;

iii) If your order contains parts/ products/ materials that are unusual or not stock in store and must be ordered or customised

iiii) If your order is custom and details have been changed from the original order date.

TOP DOOR WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES ARISING FROM SUPPLY CHAIN DELAYS.

DUE TO ECONOMIC SHORTAGES LEAD TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE ONLY AND ARE NOT CONFIRMED DATES.

Changing your order/ Making Amendments

We will commence work on your order immediately and accordingly, changes in your order detail may not be possible. Any permissible changes in order detail will incur delivery delays and additional costs.

On some occasions cancellation of your order may not be available after the day of order.

Additional changes after 1st revision will increase processing times.

A minimum of 7 working days is required for Top Door to assess changes made after revisions and edits are sent to Top Door.

All changes must be made in writing and once assessed we will respond back via email within 3-7 working days.

Clients can make X1 free change on orders after the first revision is made and a charge of $100 per an hour is applied.

ALL CHANGES WILL INCREASE DELIVERY TIMES.

 

CONFIRMING YOUR ORDER

Once order is placed and confirmed it will take between 3-5 working days for drawings to be submitted.

Once drawings are signed and confirmed ETA will commence.

All orders placed, details need to be confirmed by purchaser within 3-4 weeks from deposit. All orders that are not confirmed within this period are subject to requoting and price variations will be applied. Quote may also not be valid after 4 weeks.

MANUFACTURING WILL COMMENCE ONCE SIGNED PAPERWORK IS RECEIVED IN WRITING TO TOP DOOR & CONFIRMED BY TOP DOOR.

PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK THAT DETAILS ARE CORRECT ON INVOICES AND WINDOW & DOOR DRAWINGS WHENSIGNING OFF. ONCE SIGNED OFF THE CUSTOMER HAS ACCEPTED THAT THE DETAILS ARE CORRECT.

 

 

STORAGE TERMS

We endeavour to release your goods by estimated delivery dates.

However, goods must be picked up within 7-10 working days from completion or from arrival.
Once goods have exceeded this time period a fee of $200 Inc GST will be charged per week for storage costs.

ALL ORDERS NOT COLLECTED AFTER 2 MONTHS WILL BE DISCARDED.

 

ABILITY TO SUPPLY

  1. Any obligation of Top Door to supply goods & services is subject to its ability to secure labour, materials and other services for the manufacture and supply of goods and services.
  2. Top Door shall not be liable in any way for failure to deliver the goods and/or supply the services within the stated time and the customer may not reject the goods/ or services on account of failure to deliver within the stated time.
  3. Top Door shall not be liable for any failure to supply or deliver or for any delay in supplying the Goods or Services due to strikes, fires, floors, riots, interruption of transportation, accidents, government actions or other circumstances beyond Top Doors control.
  4. If for any reason, including inability to secure appropriate materials, labour and other requirements for the production of goods and services, Top Door is unable to perform its obligations under contract within a reasonable time, then Top Door may at any time by notice in writing to the customers terminate the contract whereupon the contract will be at an end and any deposit money paid by the customer will be refunded by Top Door and save for the recovery of the deposit neither party have any claim against each other.
  5. The consumer releases Top Door from and indemnifies Top Door against any loss, damages, costs, or liabilities claimed by the customer, or by any client of the customer or person in any contractual or other relationship with the customer, against Top Door as a result of::

i). any delay in Top Door supply or delivering goods or services for any reason listed above or not;

ii). Top Door terminating the contract pursuant above.

ORDER CANCELLATION

All custom orders cannot be refunded within 1-2 days of placement of order due to a change of mind.

All orders cancelled within 2 days will attract a 60% cancellation fee of Deposit paid.

Once order has started production it cannot be cancelled.

Cancellation after 3 days will attract a loss of 100% of deposit.

Credit notes may be applied to Standard orders that are cancelled prior to production or within reason

Credit notes are not transferable and valid for 6 months from date of issue.

On special occasions some orders cannot be cancelled within a day.

 

CUSTOM ANGLE & ARCH WINDOWS

Clients are to provide Top Door with a template.

Top Door cannot manufacture custom angle/arch doors & windows without an accurate template provided by the client

 

REPLICA JOINERY

“Matching existing” does not mean matching exactly.

Replica joinery will only be manufactured approximately and cannot be identical unless otherwise specified

 

DELIVERY

Deliveries are estimated and will arrive onsite between 9.30am-6.30pm.

Top Door does not allocate exact delivery times and there is usually an estimate of 4-6 hour time period.

The purchaser or site contact will be notified 1 hour before delivery by Transport Company on the scheduled day of delivery.

All deliveries require site assistance.

DOOR UNITS WILL BE DELIVERED UNASSEMBLED AND ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED ONSITE BY BUILDER OR CARPENTER

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT DELIVERIES IF THE JOBSITE IS UNSAFE FOR UNLOADING OR IF THERE IS NO SITE ASSISTANCE.

DELIVERIES ARE ONLY BOOKED ONCE PAYMENT IS CLEARED- PLEASE ALLOW UP-TO 3 DAYS FOR CLEARANCE.

PLEASE ALSO ALLOW 3 DAYS FOR A CONFIRMED DELIVERY DATE AFTER PAYMENT IS MADE

TIMBER IS SENSITIVE TO WET WEATHER CONDITIONS & NO DELIVERIES ARE BOOKED DURING WET WEATHER PERIODS.

CANCELLED DELIVERIES WILL BE REBOOKED ON THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATE, PROVIDED THAT THE DAY IS NOT SUBJECT TO RAIN.

UPON DELIVERY ALL GOODS MUST BE CHECKED AND SIGNED FOR. ONCE SIGNED FOR, TOP DOOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OR MISSING PARTS.

ONCE GOODS ARE INSTALLED OR ANY WORK THAT’S BEEN CARRIED OUT – GOOD WILL BE DEEMED AS ACCEPTABLE

DOOR UNITS AND SOME WINDOW UNITS PAST 1000MM WIDE X1800 WILL DISMANTLE AND FLAT PACKED BEFORE PICK UP OR DELIVERY.

SERVICE CALL OUT FEES

** Sydney metro call out $80 to be paid prior + additional costs for materials or labour if needed

** $80 Will be refunded if the in event manufacturing fault by Top Door
